At a Special General Meeting of the Club on the 25th April 2019, it was voted by a 93% majority to change the location of the 1st Tee which will allow the formation of a practice tee area close to the Clubhouse and the 1st tee. This will allow members and visitors the opportunity to warm up before play and indeed to come and practice their game.
The 1st Hole will become a semi dogleg to the left after teeing off between 2 established trees. "It will make the opening hole a much more interesting proposition and add character to what is already a characterful course," said Club Captain, Drew Ramsay. "Haddington is fast becoming a must play course in East Lothian and as the 19th oldest golf course in the world we are expecting more visitors than ever to come and play this year."
The Golf Club will be able to boast a practice putting green, a short game practice area and a long game practice area, all within 40 yards of the Clubhouse and the 1st Tee.
