Haddington Golf Club was recently described by Bunkered Magazine Issue 89 as: "In addition to being a links heaven, East Lothian also has some cracking courses and this is undoubtedly one of them. The course is set in peaceful walled surroundings and provides a thoroughly enjoyable test throughout. Here, they also go out of their way to make visitors feel welcome, so don't miss out on a real treat". |

George and Terry Dingwall asked for donations to the memorial garden for Norman Wood, instead of presents, for their joint 60th birthday party. This raised £455. Thank everyone for their kind donation.

| Haddington
Golf Club is a long established parkland course incorporated within
the boundaries of a former country estate. The course is set in peaceful
walled surroundings with the River Tyne on its North Boundary. The
course, set in 130 acres, contains many natural features as well as
much indigenous wildlife and offers a challenge to golfers of all
categories. Haddington Golf Club also boasts an extensive practice
area. |
 |
 |
Mature
beech and other trees along the River Tyne come into play on the 11th
and 15th holes. It's not a hard test, but very enjoyable for an average
golfer. One or two old buildings of interest are dotted around the
course. |
| Haddington
Golf Club was inaugurated in 1865, when the founder members were given
permission by Lord Elcho to play over Amisfield Park (its present
home) during the winter months with summer meetings being held on
various links courses in East Lothian. |
 |
 |
In
1881, Amisfield Park was let for grazing and the club moved to Garleton
Hill, about one and a half miles from the town for a period of more
than twenty years before returing to Amisfield Park, where apart
from the years of the second world war, the club has had its home.
The
course together with excellent catering facilities allows us to
welcome Golfing societies and visiting parties, many of whom return
on a regular basis.

| The
town of Haddington - derived perhaps from 'hidden toun' lies off the
A1 about 18miles east of Edinburgh and is easily accessible from Central
Scotland and Northern England. An historic burgh, Haddington offers
visitors a variety of interest with several good eating places of
historic and architectural interest. East Lothian boasts tourist accommodation
of all types, all within easy reach of Haddington as is the city of
Edinburgh itself. |
